WHY WE WALK!


Team Shawn was started in 2007 after our oldest son Shawn was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 20. After nearly a two year battle, Shawn ultimately lost the fight. We are here to be advocates on behalf of Shawn and all those who lost their lives fighting blood cancers.

This blog follows Team Shawn and their 2011/2012 fund raising efforts. All proceeds raised will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "LIGHT THE NIGHT WALK" at the Reston Town Center in Reston, VA for research and family support. For the past two years, Team Shawn raised a lofty goal of $10,000. We are reaching for the sky this year again! Our goal is to raise another $10,000 for this event! Yes, folks---$10,000! We have many ways to reach this lofty goal. We will reach it and more!!! Along the way we hope to have lots of fun and make new friends as well!

Saturday, October 20, 2012. Reston Town Center (11919 A Freedom Center, Reston, VA). Walk Distance: 2.8 miles. Festivities begin at 5 p.m., Walk begins at 7 p.m.

Join Gloria and Team Shawn on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 12am-6pm for Purcellville's Heritage Days In The Park. Just head for the Purcellville Roller Rink, and you're there! There will be music, demonstrations, and more! Fun for the whole family!

Team Shawn will be selling girl's hair accessories, Gloria's delicious jellies, and other crafty items at this event. Come, have fun, shop, and fight cancer all at the same time!
