WHY WE WALK!


Team Shawn was started in 2007 after our oldest son Shawn was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 20. After nearly a two year battle, Shawn ultimately lost the fight. We are here to be advocates on behalf of Shawn and all those who lost their lives fighting blood cancers.

This blog follows Team Shawn and their 2011/2012 fund raising efforts. All proceeds raised will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "LIGHT THE NIGHT WALK" at the Reston Town Center in Reston, VA for research and family support. For the past two years, Team Shawn raised a lofty goal of $10,000. We are reaching for the sky this year again! Our goal is to raise another $10,000 for this event! Yes, folks---$10,000! We have many ways to reach this lofty goal. We will reach it and more!!! Along the way we hope to have lots of fun and make new friends as well!

If you knew Shawn, surround yourself with many of his closest family and friends as we come together to honor his life.

Even if you did not know Shawn, YOU BETTER STILL COME, cancer effects everyone in one way or another and it is time we UNITE AGAINST THIS TERRIBLE DISEASE!!
